Brad Cooper Fine Art

Painting is my instrument to bridging the decadent elegance and grandeur of long ago, to the moral decay of present day imperialism and capitalism. In my work, I reassess the grand American dream that is established as part of our childhood teachings and ingrained in adult culture. I explore the rigid dichotomy of the past, between the impoverished and the affluent, while addressing these same underlying issues of inequality and indulgence that still exhibit themselves in modern day cultures. I've always been influenced by the quality of the classical works and instill in my artwork elements of richly varied fabrics, patterns and textures. I enjoy working freely and unconfined, while still concentrating on intricate detail, creating sociopolitical imagery that revisits historical periods of time, with an affinity towards craftsmanship, not perfectionism.

I am currently focused on my newest painting series titled "New Orleans After Dark", based on colorful but shadowy images depicting New Orleans traditional jazz and The French Quarter nightlife. I can be contacted for custom and commissioned work at cooperdesignstudio@hotmail.com.
